Well since i switched to firefox ffr and resonance have been different.
For some reason mozilla canstantly transfers data during songs on both ffr and res.

Is there a way i can stop it from transfering because it really does make me lag and it is really annoying.

Yesssss

I don't think it should matter. Try lowering the quality. That might help it not lag.

Adjust your cache size, and empty it just before you play.

in Firefox

Tools --> Options --> Privacy --> Cache Tab

Click "Clear Cache Now" button.

K i did that but firefox still transfers data during all songs and makes them lag.
After the song loads it should say done....but it keeps transfering.
My cache is currently set at 50. Does that have anything to do with it?

should not really.

are you doing this from FFR.com or a different domain?

ffr.com
Im just going to tell you in steps what happens.
1. I open firefox and it loads my homepage ffr :)
2.I click simfiles
3. i choose a song
4. I let it load
5. Even after the song loads Mozilla still says "transfering files"
6.All throughout evey song i experience lag due to the stupid file crap.

When i play a simfile in IE it loads and its a done deal. Plays fine, no lag, no file transfers. But when i try to play the same song twice in a row with IE it glitches and the song starts but no arrows appear.
Thats the original reason i got firefox. I just want to be able to play simfiles with no glitch and no gay lag.

smitty .. jeez, you come up with standalone issues .. as in you standalone ;)

Let me take a look and see if in any way I can reproduce.

Flash 9 I assume right? Firefox/1.5.0.7 ?

I do still see the loading, but if I am not mistaken, thats the behavior of Flash while playing the audio.

I guess the biggest question is, why would this be causing some lagging?

Is this happening every time? or only sometimes on some songs .. can you point me to some specific examples? Saying that this is both happening on FFR and Resonance makes me wonder ..

Perhaps a reinstall of Flash for Firefox?

eww thats awful .. welcome to unique land. Try reinstalling it, and then let me know .. reinstalling the flash plugin for firefox is relatively easy

yeah reinstalled everything and it wont complete the loading of the game, is the transfering because of the music ? or buffering? it should stop transfering once it loads the entire flash, but doesnt.. any thoughts?

I doubt it's transfering that is lagging. FF seems to run flash really slow on computers that can't handle it.

The steps and song are always fully loaded before you actually play it. A problem I have is if the song is already loaded in cache, the song plays without steps.

Figured it out. Firefox isn't transferring the music or images during the game--it's trying to load the adbar in the middle of the page above the Flash applet and the two buttons to the left and right.

As to why this is, is beyond me. Ports (routing?), ISP, hosts file, I'm just not sure.

thats not what I am seeing though. Everything loads for me without any issue.

Yea i do.
My friend came over yesterday and tried to figure it out. Hes a damn computer lord and he didnt even know why the hell it keeps transfering.
I tried playing some simfiles on aol explorer but it seems once a simfile is in the cache it doesnt work but there are no loading problems. Its only mozilla.
My friend opened the regedit files and deleted all of my flash and reinstalled it and firefox is still being troublesome.
It also puzzled him as to why firefoxs homepage was flashflashrevolution even after deleting and reinstalling firefox.
Im sure you guys will find a lead :)
Im still clueless.

Anything wrong with programs?
The active x and gtk are the only things that are worrying me.

Uhh, that's not what is causing you to lag. Cause everybody who uses firefox has that same message. I even get it. There's some other reason.

Ummm no because when i used to play resonance on IE it just loaded and read "done" in place of "transfering data" and i experienced no lag but had the arrow problems.
Maybe i should use another browser?
IE doesnt work, firefox doesnt work, Aol explorer doesnt work.
Is opera any good and is it free?
See anything thats not supposed to be there in firefox?

Smitty, you may not want to listen to me, but i'm just suggesting this. Try Slimbrowser. I personally think it's great, and blocks a lot of spamming. My father is a computer technesion, i'll ask him about it and see what he has to say. If it still doesn't work with SB i dunno what to do. Sorry i cant do more.
Here is a direct link to where you can download SlimBrowser.

Same here. Look in his two screenshots though. They're inconspicuously missing above the Flash applet. :)
