Just tested a few updates with some of the new Resonance code. Mainly, as a small test, I reconverted 4 simfiles: Pants (http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/sims/index.php?songid=4571), Echo (http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/../sims/index.php?songid=4681), Paint it Black (http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/../sims/index.php?songid=4270), and A Logical Song (http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/../sims/index.php?songid=4805). Each of these were chosen for very specific reasons, so if you wonder why, there is your answer.

As time continues, I'll likely expand the tests to more and eventually everything will be reconverted. However, since it's still early testing, I need to know if these are correct conversions compared to how they were before and their SM counterparts.

So if you find any glaring holes in any of the above, definately post back which one it is, where it's at, etc.

You tried to use that PANTS sim as a test for synchronization? It's 5 BPM over the actual BPM.

for reals? hmm. it worked uber perfect on SM: play it there

Pants is 190, not 195. Plus it has a section with increasing BPM.

yup; i know the increasing bpm part, but i didn't do it cause i wanted it to work on Resonance, i just simulated it the best i could through different types of colorful notes (like 64ths and stuff like that) it didn't come out that great, i agree.

are u sure it's not 195? the notes fit well. especially on sm

No, honestly. Having the BPM off by 5 is like typing a school essay in Wingdings. No matter what you put into it, it will be a load of garbage. Having the BPM off by .1 can make a huge difference. 5 BPM is an enormous amount in this context. Observer knows how to sync a file, so he knows what he's talking about, although he might not be contributing.

Yeah, so... I had to sync Pants. It wasn't pleasant. I'm absolutely sure it's 190 on the non-slow parts.

Notice: I didn't choose pants because of the syncing in itself.

The reason I didn't contribute anything useful to Seasoned Spice because I know that either: 1) He wouldn't understand what I meant, or 2) He wouldn't follow my advice.

I'm pretty much turning into Moogy when it comes to stepfiles and their creators. (Mind you Moogy doesn't know what the eff he's talking about as he can't sync a file for the life of him either) but still, I am like him in the respect that I think most people's stuff sucks. :/

Call me arrogant or an asshole or whatever, I don't really care. I don't make stuff for everyone and I know that. I find what I create to be fun, and lots of others do too. On the other hand, lots of people (Moogy included) think my stuff is crappy. However, I use common sense when creating stuff and I do it CORRECTLY. IMO that's all the really matters.

So answer this: does the whole thing completely suck and it's a peice of crap i should totally take off cause it makes the website look in a bad light? or is it just some parts which are bad?

Most of the regulars here will agree with that. It happens a lot in the simulator files forum, just more bluntly.

The site isn't going to look worse, but it's neither going to help the site much having an off beat sim.
If any simfile creator "makes the website look in a bad light" it would be Kevin_18 for being the only person that constantly makes bad files and advertises them on the forums and doesn't improve them.

kks. so, which parts need help especially? (this means i can't get it on Resonance anymore, right? speed changes are a must.. i think)

speaking of Kevin_18, he likes to post MY files and call them his own... bastard.

So what's going on with all the sync issues? My files are way out of sync on Resonance. Are they going to be resynced soon?

mine too my 300bpm songs are like at 400+

Provide links to the step files, if possible. Most of the sync issues will be due to the sample rate of the MP3s -- currently only 22,050 and 44,100 Hz songs are supported (that I know of).
