Resonance bug

LD told me to post my problem as a bug.
I choose any song under the simfiles section and load the file to play it, then after the song is over i try to reload it and the music immediately starts and the life bar doesnt flash as do no arrows appear.
Not sure what it is. All i can say is that it really pisses me off That i cant play a song more than once unless i restart my computer. Even after that i can play it once more then the glitch kicks in again.
Any one else ever had this problem?
It not my flash player im up to date on all of them.

Since Resonance is based on the R2 engine, and due to the fact that you can't play ANY song on R2 twice without having to right click and press play/clear your cache, I would probably have to say that Resonance is having this problem because of the R2 engine that it's based on.

Sweet! Now i know its not just me hell yea.
But still it wasnt doing that 3 days ago but ill just wait till LD and his team of colleagues fix the problem because i really enjoy reonance.

Yah, sometimes the song just ends all of a sudden too...

I don't know if it's just this song, but whatever, it ended when there was some more.

Yeah I have the same problems as well... I think I'll just stick with SM and R1 until all the bugs get fixed.

The engine that is used in resonance is a completely rebuilt engine which is to be used in R2B2. However, I suppose it is possible that the engine could suffer from a similar error (although I have yet to have any problem with being able to play songs like some of you have described...).

Here is a question thats allows us to be more specific. When you say reloading a game, you mean hitting refresh on the browser right?

and additionally, you said this was not working this way before but is now? Since when?

Usually the first time I play a song it loads and works fine. If I hit refresh to play again the song won't reload because it's already in the cache and the song starts immediately, and no arrows pop up. Emptying the cache will cause the song to load which makes it work for some reason.

If you aren't getting this, a way you can duplicate that error is similar to right clicking and choosing rewind.

Smitty, please let me know (as an example) what level this does fails on for you. I have the code open and would like to find a solution to the problem today.

I need solid facts on solid problems to diagnose this stuff. "Yeah, I was having the same problems" could be strucutred in a way that is a little more helpful. Like the specific song, flash player version, OS etc..etc.

Jason yes i hit the reload button and the song starts but glitches i guess.
Never had that problem before.
And to LD. Every song glitches once i play it once and try it again.
Just to play a song a second time i have to delete all files.
Never happened days ago.

So we have established that this is new and it didn't happen until very recently.

So if you would, please point us to levels to look at too please ;)

I cant exactly point you to any specific levels because they all do it.
Try shind bad. I didnt even play it once and it still glitched.

ok, checking on that .. and hope to have update when we can reproduce it ... sadly, we cannot seem to reproduce this at all right now. Neither in IE or FF

I just tested with IE. I played a certain simfile completely, refreshed, and everything loaded perfectly. Also refreshed while playing the simfile; still worked perfectly. But I think I have a clue with this bug...

Smitty, were you happening to be using speed mods when you witnessed the bug? (You know, Speed=3 into Speed=4, etc.)

And also, did you right click and press rewind to play the simfile again?

Yes i use speed mods all the time but it didnt ever affect anything untill recently.
No i didnt hit rewind.
