So... seems most of my simfiles have this rather non-helpful message next to them. Any enlightenment?

basically thats the nice way of saying your sims suck, and you shoud stop making them.

these acusations are based on flying dragons with golden tipped scales.

Edit: I guess you guys really can't take a joke. oh well I'll stick to the GB where I belong.

Businessman, stop the flames or else I will ban.. Seriously, keep your crap in the GB.

Coolgamer.. That error most likely means you have a combination of files that we are not prepared to processs yet in the conversion. Maybe some odd information or filenames. I will look into them and find a solution or explanation for the situation.

Cheers,

I agree with Synth, don't discourage people to make sims.

If I was a Admin, you'd be long gone.

I don't really know what your problem is Coolgamer,as I have never made a simfile, Sorry I can't be of any help.

I know the High Roller song has a speed change, but the "Ebeneezer Goode (Beatmasters Mix)" stepfile should be good to go. (The other two or three stepfiles uploaded aren't by me, and were done back when the main site I used for simfiles went down, to preserve what I felt were excellent files)

Here's an overview of my files:

My computer's been wonky, so I haven't made many smzip files. (I might go back and reupload them it that format later.)

As such, the files are WinRAR, normally on Best compression setting.

They contain:

The music file. (Normally OGG Vorbis with variable bitrate)
A DWI file.
A SM file.
A background PNG image.
A banner PNG image. (In some files I've yet to upload, there is not a banner yet. Some even still lack a background. The horror!)
A txt readme. (This usually has info about what BG videos the song uses, if any, and where to download them from. They are not included in the file due to size limits.)

Also, I just tried to uplaod a SMZIP. It told me the system doesn't allow that type of file. Kinda odd, since it's the Stepmania format.

smzip is their own format .. however, .zip and .rar are supported.

.ogg is supported, but we have seen one fail and are looking at that.

also, it would be helpful if could you link to one of the sims in your post rather than making us go look for it? We are making a lot of changes as we go along and some files have caused issues.

The best way to get a sim thats guarateed to work here is use a .zip or .rar with a .sm, and .mp3 file (banners and backgrounds in jpg work easily too).

Until we have every scenario sorted out .. its beta .. and will stay in beta until we can guaratee 99% coverage.

Hope that clears things up somewhat, and we will be working quite hard to get the rest of the bugs worked out.

More soon ..

http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/sims/view.php?songid=3977 is one without any speed changes that doesn't work.

Can't wait. Hopefully it'll work with the system.

Okay, ZIP files aren't working either. Case in point: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/sims/index.php?songid=4387

Note: No song preview, banner preview, or playable option.

Could the fact that I use variable bitrates on my OGG files have anything to do with this? If so, that needs fixed, because it's the only way I can get good sound without going over the file size limit.

None of my uploaded stepfiles with ogg's are working. (They were saved using Audacity). Looks like all of them have variable bitrates... For example http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/sims/index.php?songid=796 (which doesn't have time changes)
