FFR Resonance is just to preview the sims before downloading it. It's a great idea; I can't remember how many times I have to delete a file after one game.

Yep, it'll be good especially for lesser known artists because people will be more apt to preview their sims and play them, maybe even download them after, because its faster than downloading.

It's also damn good for newbs who are too stupid to understand how to use Stepmania.
I mean the ones who are like "ok i downloaded how do I install it to my FFR so i can play it?"

I would never expect FFR, R2 or Resonance to ever replace Stepmania.. That is not the goal, instead they all compliment eachother.

What Resonance is good for is playing good original simfiles when you're not able to reach your computer with Stepmania on it. Sure it may not be perfect but it's better than playing most of R1's offerings.

I love the arrow speed control stuff! Can flash register keys at high speeds though?

This opens a lot of doors for newcomers in the simfile department looking for attention. All of the StepMania regulars are incredibly lazy, and won't be bothered with trying a simfile they aren't completely sure will be of high quality.
That said, there's no reason to play StepMania any less because of this. If anything, it's a reason to play it more.
edit: I'm not exactly sure if there's a limit, or how fast it would be, but I just FC'd the 24th trills in Orc Theme 01. It shouldn't be too much of a problem, regardless.

Yeah, but i think one minor flaw to the resonance play is that the arrow sync seems a little off. i played my sim and it seemed to be 2 beats off. is this gonna be fixed?

This may be done as Resonance gets updated (which is very likely, seeing as there's tons of bugs and everything).

There's an issue with the synching, but two beats is too much. Hopefully it will be fixed sometime soon-ish.

I honestly have to rely on you guys to accurately and consistantly duplicate the sync issue in order for me to diagnos it. The reason for this is because many of the offsync problems I hear about are not offsync for me. So is it a browser problem? A plugin problem? A system problem? or a code issue? I would hate to make global changes and not fix the issue. I think maybe we should start a testing thread.

Possibly so. This would be possibly good for anyone who wants to help diagnose the issues. I will probably volunteer.

How are we ever going to topple the tyranny of Stepmania with an attitude like that?
