what does it mean by look out for the XYZ buttons or w.e ?

it means you use the x y and z buttons for doubles. i believe.

It's Z, X and C..not Y

I have no idea why they said Y (probably because it sounded fluent)

Ok, assume the paddle is at the top.

Pressing Z will bring another paddle to the left side, X will bring one on the opposite side, and C will bring one on the right side.

Pressing ceartain combinations of these keys will allow you to hit double/triple/quad waves.
