Star Wars, Alien, Predator, Transformers, Comic heroes, Thundercats, Robotech (hellz yeah), Gundam, and Power Rangers.

I think it's an anime series... *did a google check on it*

It's from Gainax *makers of Eva and FLCL and a couple of others that doesn't come to mind* It's also from the 80's... kinda looks it too.

No wait. Looking at info at the same time. It's a convention that Gainax did and hosted about 25 years ago, maybe more, depending on when the article was written...

So, that's the story about that.
