Which is better? The new Playstation 3, Nintendo Revolution, or the Xbox360?

Instead of a "which is better?" poll, why don't you ask, "Which is your top priority?"
They all have their strong points. There is no Best.

Meh, I just recently got NCAA Football 2006 for my PS2 so I know Sony will deliver with the PS3 because my PS2 is still fun actually. I don't know about Nintendo because they haven't really given more info about it. Xbox 360? I say no because if you look at how graphic intensive Half-Life 2 is going to be on the XBox, does Microsoft really need to jump the gun to get their next gen console out first? No they don't.

Well firstly I'm an Xbox owner. I can't tell what will be better right now but I know I'm going to buy Xbox360 since I like the games that are exclusive for it. I don't really like the new design for the ps3 controller, but I really like the Xbox 360 controllers.

The XBOX 360 is pretty much the joke of industry. Anybody that buys it is extremely uneducated about games or just a chronically retarded mainstreamer.
PS3 looks like the middle-ground - it'll have a lot of mainstream crap, but also a lot of good games.
Revolution is definitely the solid choice here. Nintendo looks to be delivering a totally innovative experience and some fantasically innovative games with it. Not to mention, it's backwards compatible with the GCN and has the entire libraries of the NES, SNES, and N64 available for download.
Also, the PS3 will most likely NOT support PSX games. Too hard to emulate or something.

Being someone who started his gaming days with a Game Boy Color, I'm going with the Nintendo Revolution, Even though not much is known about it, what we know, which includes a whole library of games available for download and Wi-Fi, makes the system already woth getting for me.
However, as other people have said, all of the consoles have their strong points. Chances are that a lot of us will get at least two of the consoles.

I sure hope they release classic style dualshocks for the PS3 or make the classic controllers playable on it. That goofy looking controller seems to be the one thing that would make me contemplate a Revolution instead.
XBox360 isn't even a contemplation in my book. All the Xbox (and the Xbox360) is, in my opinion, is a computer trying to be a console. If you want a computer, get a computer. If you want a console, get a console. But if you want both blended needlessly together, get an Xbox.

MMM I agreee with SQUEEK. they all have strong points, but I'll be partial to PS3. Im so not impressed with teh XB360. Mainly becuase of the way its presented. ok, so its dula core....so is my PC, nothing new or exciting. They keep the same disk size, but up the graphics...mmmm, someones gonna cut a corner somewhere to pack a supposedly larger game into a 4.7GB disk (granted teh anerage Xb game is only 1.2-2.5 GB right now). Faceplate? get real, why are you selling me the idea of a changable face plate. Like I care... "its a media center" so is my modded XB right now, and YES I can play HAlo online with a larger user base than XBL. People seem to think that is HAlo 3 thats shipping with it...errrnt. How long did it take them to make the dissapointment known as Halo 2 (dissapointment cause it renders slow, they had to fix that in a map pack...make me wait 3 or 4 years for a sequal that was supposed to be only a year - youd better get it right the first time). They say its 512MB DDR2 RAM and play on the fact that sony only has 256. Yeah, 512 SHARED, sony has 2 sets of 256 assigned; CPU and GPU. I think the the 360 will be dissapointing becuase of the hype that they are attatching. It will do what its supposed to, but this is a company that hasnt had much in the way of originality since Windows 3.11. How many revisions has LONGHORN been through and it was supposed to out in 2003...its 2005 and its not to be seen until MAYBE 2006. I dont trust it.
Sony - its FUGLY. the Gerogeformanstation 3 (with the spiderman 2 font of all things). I like the idea of multi threading dula core and the blue ray hybrid disc. it means taht not only will the graphics be good, but the programming will have to be pretty clean so it will run perfectly. The dev groups are already bitching about it, but wah!, the games on the next gens are supposed to cost like 70 a piece, they 'll be getting paid for their work. I hate the controllers, but I think that was just and image to say they have a controller. I think they'll get the liscence back for the Dual Shocks again. I believe thats why they didnt picture the normal controller, as they just got sued for useing it with the PStwo. I expect a great deal from teh PS3. Higher quality and better games.
Nintendo...this... will shock the hell out of everyone. The oldest players in the arena; they've been stomped by both Sony and MS, and I think they've learned a lot from it. They have always had cutting edge ideas, but never really implemented them in a way that Americans find it really appealing. Look ate th GBA link to the GC. there arent many games that use that, and its becuase its not popular. I thought that was genius, pure genius. I think sony will do that with the PSP, and its why I havent gotten rid of either of mine. I love the idea of being able to DL old games...but it means yet anothr system to own every single version of every spin off and main title of FF. I must have 30 FF games (and those are the unopened originals only, both domestic and import). I think if they make the nintendo brand games free its a good start, and charge say 1 dollar per non nintendo brand game that it would help pay the liscencing fees for people like capcom and konami. Imagine... Contra, Bubble Bobble, Astynax, Kid Icarus, UN Squadron, KIller Instinct - all over again. With games like RE 4 and Killer 7, we have seen that Nintendo CAN get stuff right. RE4 graphics and game play are on par with its "bigger brohters". Lots of crit. has come down onthe GC, as it doent play DVDS and I cant listen to music. DUH! its a game system...like you need a 15th mp3 player and why watch a DVD on a console - the decoders suck ass on them. Thats why they make seperate things. An all in one is bad news in general. Like the TV / VCR combo - your TV breask waht good is the VCR - and vice versa. They are both gone while one gets fixed.... wasteful. Anyway, I see a lot of comeback props for NINTENDO in 2006.
What they ALL should do is what SEGA did in the DreamCast...put hte damn OS on the DISC. It eliminates the limitations to bad OS design. If a dev finds that they cant do a particular thing in the game becuase the OS wont let it - they just patched teh OS...eer wonder WHY Sould Calibur looked better on the DC than the XB? thats why
thats my rant on the topic..I vote PS3, give time to build momentum and XB will fall on its proverbial knees.

I don't like first person shooters, so I have no reason to buy a 360. I don't have 400 dollars, so I won't buy a ps3 for a few years (i'll probably just buy a PS2, and there'll be enough quality games to keep my interest until the ps3 price lowers to what the revolution will launch for, 200)...I'll buy a revolution at launch. PS3 eventually. But I'm not going to vote because none of them are 'best'...and we still know very little about them, and even less about the games.

I'd rather go with a system that delivers fun games, rather than a graphical monster that puts out incredible graphics, with almost no fun factor. There are obviously exceptions to this, but the Revolution gets my vote. They just better make a damn Kirby game for it. One that's not totally worthless.

Wow supermario, you totally just missed the point of videogame systems. Although I admit the PS3 looks pretty ugly it has a very promising future. The only big point that sony missed with PS2 was the graphics department. Seeing videos from E3 and it's graphical capabilities I'm pretty sure that PS3 has the most potential outta the 3 because Sony normally delivered on the gameplay aspect. The revolution is in a close second for me (I'm probably getting it though because I'm a Nintendo fanboy) because I was never disappointed by their gameplay, and they always came out with new, original, inovative ways to present their systems like controller designs, sizes and shapes of the actual console, and now they are going from the mini disc to a full size disc. Graphics weren't always the best on that game, but they are really good nonetheless and worth the price. I won't even go into XBox because I'm sure there are enough Xbox fanboys in the world to tell you about it. Oh and the prices won't be $400-$500(With the exception of the 360) but more likely around the Very high $300 area to the mid $400 area.
Edit: Holy **** people, Halo #(Whichever one you wanna talk about) ISN'T THE SECOND ****ING COMING OF JESUS. I rate it as a very good FPS, BUT THAT'S IT. I'M SICK OF THE BULL **** I HEAR FROM PEOPLE GOING, OMG HALO 2 IS TEH ROXZ0RZ. YOU CAN'T COMPARE HALO TO SOMETHING LIKE FINAL FANTASY. My god, I would continue to rant but I'd rather play maplestory.

THIS IS GONNA SOUND LIKE AN ADVERTISEMENT
The specs on a Ps3 Blow XBOX360 to bits, and Leaves None-tendo to rot.
IF you look at the main picture, you want a system that has experience with ALL aspects of the gaming world (bye bye Microsoft)
and, you want a good game selection as well (bye bye none-tendo)
Sony, for years past, and years to come, has sprung hundreds of great games from the turf of their crazy heads, and entertained millions of people, even on something as pathetic as playstation 1!
Just Recently, they made a PS2 handheld. Damn near same graphics, and they are brewing up a brainstorm as is for some killer games as is!
Now, what has the revolution got? So far, a bunch of remakes and sequels. Nothing more. What has XBOX got?
...
......Halo 3 and Mechassault?
....okayyyy What about PS3?
THE LOST GOES ON AND ON GAMEWISE
Not only that, the memory in a Ps3 is integrated now. NOT memory carded. Ps3 has got wayyyy more memory than it needs. ON TOP OF THAT, The ps3 also has oustanding game detail. Has anyone else seen the trailer for PS3's Tom Clancy? Good game w/ good graphics. If you watch it, a guy gets knocked off of a bridge. As he's falling, he snares a treebranch, and it tears his vest. YOU CAN SEE THE THREADS IN THE TORN CLOTHING! ITS INSANE!!! Oh! Not to mention that the Ps3 has got WELL MADE WIRELESS CONTROLS, and you can DISCONNECT THE HARD DRIVE OF YOUR PS3 AND CONNECT IT WITH OTHER ONES!
I am getting too riled up about the Ps3. But Ps3 rulio trulio dominat3s

You know, being a fanboy isn't good for your health. After realizing what could possibly happen during this second console war, I decided to become neutral. Instead of completely bashing the other competitors for Sony, you should try and think about it: Sure, you can see the threads in his clothing, but would you even care if you got the game, played it for a while, and then thought..."This game blows some major ass." I seriously doubt that it's going to be awful, or even bad; Most TC games I've played were pretty fun from my point of view. But what I'm saying is that graphics mean nothing if the game is awful. You don't want that. The Xbox 360 may not have as powerful capabilities, but you know what most people who own an Xbox are going to do once Halo 3 comes out? They're going to treat it as though Jesus himself touched the case. And what about the Revolution? You underestimate just how big the backwards compatability feature is. I know quite a few people who used to be avid gamers, but quit once all these "new systems" came out, and gave their systems to me. I'm sure, along with countless others, that these people would like to get back into their gaming roots and play Donkey Kong, for old times sake. Now I'm sure that everyone knows that the PS3 is far superior to its competitors, graphic-wise. But I have no immediate reason to shell out a possible 400+ dollars when there are no games I want right now. If they came out with maybe another Tekken, or another Final Fantasy, I'd probably rush out and buy it. The Xbox 360 doesn't have any games that seem appealing to me either, however. But the Revolution will have the new Super Smash Brothers Melee game out upon release of the system, and no matter how much of a fanboy ANYONE is, I doubt they can say they hate this series, unless they've never even played it and automatically assume that everything put out by Nintendo is worthless. For you out there who wonder about available-upon-release games, there's not much to tell, because not much has been released...however, all three systems have a large list of developers currently working on games for them. From the looks of things, the PS3 is far in the lead(as I suspected) with the Xbox 360 trailing...and the Revolution? Well...it's not doing so hot in terms of fanboy popularity, seeing as virtually nothing aside from console design and capabilites have been released to the publc. But in this thread, there's a popularity quiz for the new Next-Gens, and for some reason, the Revolution is faaar ahead. I haven't the slightest idea why. I wonder how things will change once all three systems have been released.
Also, I'm not buying any of these until I see which one suits me best; I have no preference at all.

The XBOX 360 is pretty much the joke of industry. Anybody that buys it is extremely uneducated about games or just a chronically retarded mainstreamer.
Wow. You just made me chuckle. I commend you.
The XBox 360 is the only system in the mix at the moment that knows what it's doing. Quite literally, too.
Just look at Nintendo Revolution. Currently, Nintendo has released some specs, thrown out a potential prototype (that looks like a black box, but anyway), and after that, it's sat down and watched the big boys play because they don't know how to appeal to the youth market while making a profit. Nintendo's going down the drain. I loved it back when it dominated the market, back when it had reason to.
Seriously, what games has Nintendo released lately that -haven't- been a complete disappointment? Sometime after the release of the Gamecube, the Nintendo guys went senile. They've released next to no good titles for the Gamecube, then released a handheld console that requires three hands to use properly and makes all of us non-mutants feel left out. Besides, it has no game library. I don't want to play dating sims thanks. But moving on to Sony.
I hate Sony. They're the corporate devil. Everything Sony I've ever had has broken down for no reason at all, because everything they release is something that looks like it's worth something but really is pure and utter crap. Their consoles are no different. All my friends who have had PS and PS2 have had their consoles break down to the point that they've had to be replaced within two years.
Besides that, PS2's games are good - only because they buy all the popular licenses. Just try to find an anime game for XBox and you will fail because they don't want to pay for the right to play games. GC might have a couple, but they suck thanks to Nintendo's lack of competence.
Now, what has Sony done with PS3? Little more than Nintendo. They've made a final prototype and, the part that annoys me to no end, they've released specs. All of them are better than XBox 360's - in fact, PS3 is twice as powerful. Since they've hired people to analyze the intelligence of the average gamer, they know that's enough to get a load of supporters. People don't seem to realize that if a system is fast, it doesn't mean that it's the best hands down. However, here's where the proof that Sony still sucks as much as ever: despite the fact that it has double the power, it has less memory than the 360. How does that make sense? It doesn't. It means the thing's going to crash like a driver that's had twenty too many, while at the same time raising the estimated cost to $600. Idiots.
What does 360 have going for it? Realistic specs - enough to make great games while keeping cost down and a system that doesn't crash. Online play remains the same for easy transition between the XBox systems. There are too many cool features to count, but they include wireless controllers as a standard that keep all of their pros and ditch the cons of worrying about battery life, and feature losses (like rumble), a "XBox Now" (something like that) menu that lets you access everything easily", among other things like USB controller ports. The game library upon release is absolutely great. Oblivion, the newest Elder Scrolls game after the superb Morrowind, Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing 3, Halo 3 in the works, etc., etc.
Quite the contrary to what Moogy said, anyone who doesn't buy it is extremely uneducated about games or just a dunce that buys what has the best specs or has blind loyalty to a company that has lost its luster.

Guys, guys, guys, enough with the fan boy comments, it gets ****ing old. Oh ho ho, choco, you're so ****ing hilarious with your "none-tendo" joke, it was pure genious. I admit Sony has been making great games for the past few decades. They are the most promising from what we've heard. As far as the revolution goes, it is backwards compatible with the GC. Now does that fall under the category of remake or sequal? That's what I thought, and if you are classifying the fact that you can download the HUGE library of games coming from decades upon decades pure gameplay as remakes then you're just a ****ing dumbass. Although, you do seem to be correct about the Xbox360 just being a fanboy console. Ahh and yes the trailers for games, have you noticed that trailers have a lot better resolutions than actual gameplay? And again, do you know for fact that it has good gamplay? Jesus, you are waaay too PS3 fanboy in your post. Tokzic, you are the kind of Microsoft fanboy I was refferring to. Moogy was absolutly right about that, and I never agree with moogy. Please, inform us on how the 360 is the only console with a mix-Wait, what the **** did that sentence mean. It sounded like fanboy jibberished backed up with JACK****. Nintendo hasn't released like, "OMG WE'VE GOT 3409290487239 PROCESSORS SO YOU CAN PLAY A GAME AS BIG AS ALL THE FF GAMES PUT TOGETHER TIMES 12" to appeal to you people who are basing it just by their specs. It has given a basic idea of what it looks like, what some of the capabilities are, and some of the games coming out for it. Also, your sentence that says:
it's sat down and watched the big boys play because they don't know how to appeal to the youth market while making a profit.
doesn't make sense. I admit, Nintendo's quality in games has gone down, alot. There are some really good games out there for the GC though such as Killer7, Zelda Series(Wind Waker, master quest, and the twilight princess), Metroid Prime 1&2, SSBM, ect. Nintendo appeals more to a party console than a solo rain day console. On to your bashing of Sony. Obviously, you don't take care of your things then. I have a sony TV that has been in my family for 23 years and it still works just fine. Pure and utter crap? What kind of thing have they released that was "pure and utter crap"? Your friend must not take good care of his items either. I have a Playstation(the big rectangular one) and I have had it since it came out, and to this day it still works like it is brand new. Ok, now honestly, I don't feel like bitching at you guys any more because I'm sick of writing this up. If you wanna fanboy at me then go on and ****ing fanboy till you're satistfied but know that you probably will not change my mind. I am just as negi, I am neutral.

Ah, this brings back memories of school. me and my friend were arguing.
him: The revolution is gonna suck. Xbox will rule.
Me: where is you're proof of that?
him: because Xbox kicked Gamecubes ass.
Me: and even if this is true, (I'm a fanboy so didn't want to accept that Xbox kicked gamecubes ass) what does that have to do with revolution and Xbox 360?
him: xbox kicked gamecubes ass! idiot.
Me: OK then....without referring to Xbox and gamecube, which do you think will win the fight of xbox 360 and revolution?
him: well let's see, Gamecube didn't have a lot of power...
Me: oh my god...
Thats a very close copy of the conversation. then my other dumbass friend comes up to me and says "Steve, you are an idiot. I've read in many game reviews in magazines and on tv shows that the revolution reeks."
Me: "What kind of magazines could have reviews of a console that won't come out for over a year? (which just reminded me now, back then we had almost NOTHING to decide which would be better. such a stupid argument.)
him: uh TONS. prototypes? stuff like that? ever heard of them?
Me: I'm so sure you've gotten your info from a reliable source.
So we went on with that...stupid....idiotic argument. neither of them would shut up. I told them to wait for the consoles, apparently they have no patience.
OK THEN! Back to the point of this post. I think PS3 will be pretty darn good, but too pricey for me. (yes that is all I have to say.) Xbox360 will be good as well, And as it is coming out much earlier, will be more of a hit. but I have my doubts about it. Revolution will probably be lacking in the graphics and power department, compared to PS3, but will have new games like always and new accessories. Also the point of the reverse compatability and downloadable games. I am very happy about this. it also reminds me that nintendo has been a running video games business for quite a long while. A lot of experience. PS3 and Xbox are powering up, but Revolution is improving all around. (I need to act like less of a fan boy......)
Well since I think I'm acting too much like a fanboy, I will say this. I have too little knowledge about ANY SINGLE ONE of these consoles to make a final decision. So I think I will just have to wait. Sorry for the non-future-console-educated post.

I can't believe you idiots are STILL arguing over 3 things that DON'T EVEN EXIST YET! It's like UBotC: Kirby vs Jesus vs Godzilla, but that was one giant joke. You guys are seriously stating things as fact and all completely ignoring each other, when really we don't know a whole lot at this point. In fact, I'll list what we know:
Nintendo is being secretive, their system isn't much stronger than Gamecube. Nintendo usually dominates the lil kid section of the market and not a whole lot else.
Microsoft has plans of their new system to be more like a big play pen and less like a pure gaming console, thanks to things like what Chromer just mentioned.
PS3 is going to be the most powerful in-home system ever, pretty much. Its exterior (controllers included) looks pretty silly, but the stuff it will be able to put on your TV screen will be ridiculously good.
Some things you guys need to remember:
All the X-Box fanboys used to laugh at all the PS2 fanboys because their system was SOOOOOO much more powerful. Now they're all like "well...power isn't everything!!"
Nintendo fanboys can't be changed. If you like playing lil kid games on really poorly designed controllers, then you'll like Nintendo's console. Yeah, the games aren't like the games the other systems have, but maybe that's because the other consoles have games that most people will like. Recently, I think Nintendo has started appeal to a niche market of younger people and fanboys. If you fit into that, great, but Nintendo just isn't for me....
Don't assume that better processing power only means better graphics. (The following is why I really like the PS3) With such a huge amount of power, you can do lots of stuff the other consoles can't. The difference between X-Box and PS2 wasn't enough that similar games couldn't be made for both, but PS3 will be able to use its full powers to have things that other consoles simply can't do because they aren't powerful enough. This could mean more interactive environments, huge environments (which will be great for the next GTA, which you know will come out on PS3 before anything else), tons and tons of enemies on-screen at once, and all sorts of stuff. Think of computers. New games don't always just up the graphics compared to the last one, but they add new things and more depth (which, like graphics, use processing power). I'm hoping that PS3 doesn't just mean super graphics, but also more depth that's just not possible on other consoles.
In closing, this whole topic is stupid and pointless. You can't change my mind and make me like 360 or Revolution (especially since we don't know like...anything about the latter), and I can't change your minds to make you like PS3. Also, you can't even know for yourself which is better until they're all released and you can hang out in a Best Buy and play on them all. Seriously.

August 8th, 2005, 11:07 PM
First of all, this has turned into what EVERY SINGLE TOPIC LIKE THIS IN THE WORLD has turned into, a wide-scale flame war and a my-system-is-better-than-your-system crap-fest (yeah, that's a lot of hyphens in one sentence). Evilbutterfly, you said that this whole topic was just a bunch of pointless arguments, and then clearly showed your all-out support for the PS3.
For once, can't people just talk about the reasons why which system is their top priority, without the same old flaming? I'm actually going to be fair and post some pros and cons of all 3, although i've been a Nintendo man up until now, so forgive me if i come up short on the others, especially Xbox, which i haven't played much.
What we know about the Revolution:
Well, it's Nintendo, isn't it? They're all about the games, and they've been around long enough to know games. We can expect some sweet sequels to previous games (Smash Bros. Wi-Fi!!!) and some new series to come along. Sadly, the GCN got little third party support because of their low power, and all of the good games were mostly by Nintendo, with a few exceptions (ex. SCII, Tales of Symphonia) and had a lot of horrible games obviously made for little kids that tainted their reputation. They're going to have to make up for it by giving the Revolution some things that will appeal to the mainstream, which they failed to do on the GCN. I hope they do, cause i would hate to see Nintendo go under. A good start is the ability to download pretty much any game for the older systems.
Side note: I can't believe the lack of foresight Nintendo had when they made LOZ:WW. Don't get me wrong, it was a good game, but didn't they realise that people would take the new gfx style as Zelda becoming kiddie along with the GCN? I'm just looking at this from a buisness standpoint, i thought WW's gfx were a wonderful nice change, again, not that i didn't like OOT's style.
What we know about the PS3:
The PS2 got the most support out of all 3 systems, with most of the best games of this generation of consoles being available for it, if not exclusive to it. We know that companies like Rockstar, SquareEnix, and Capcom won't fail to make new awesome games for the system, and we know that there will be new, awseome games for the system. We also know that the PS3 will be a powerful system, especially graphically. I watched the entire PS3 press conference recorded at Gamespot, and some of the demos they showed to demonstrate its potential were pretty awesome. Sony will make the PS3 nice to look at and run smoothly, and we can count on third parties to make great games.
What we know about the X360:
Microsoft has gotten smarter since the mistakes of the Xbox, and is making the X360 much more friendly to the average consumer and creating an entire online community, much more in-depth and interesting than that of the other two consoles. I wouldn't expect less of the creators of MSN. Everything about the system just screams sexy, with the sleek, white hourglass-figured system and the new controllers, and wireless as well (although the PS3 and probably the Revolution's controllers will both be wireless also). It's a huge contrast to the clunky, big black box and monstrosity of a controller (although this was quicky fixed) of yesterday. In terms of power, the X360 isn't far behind the PS3, and looks very nice as well. All we have to hope for is great games to take advantage of this technology.
Phew, that took really long to write. As for my pick of systems, the Revolution looks very nice with the promise of sexy new games (Smash Bros. Wi-Fi!!!), but right now my money's on the X360. The new Xbox Live features look too sweet to pass up. Props to all 3 systems, though. I'm just not pumped about the PS3, sorry Sony lovers.
Before i end this post, i'd like to get in a couple last jabs:
If you like playing lil kid games on really poorly designed controllers, then you'll like Nintendo's console.
I've already addressed the "little kid" issue, but my beef's with your controller comment. Personally, I like the GCN controller better than both of the others; it just feels so comfortable in my hands, a big step up from the travesty that was the N64 controller. The other controllers are alright, but the GCN controller just feels so right in my hands.
The specs on a Ps3 Blow XBOX360 to bits, and Leaves None-tendo to rot.
One of my biggest pet-peeves is people who try to flame Nintendo by simply spelling their name so there's an insult at the beginning of it. Really, what are you trying to say, that Nintendo has no good games? No power? Really, what? None-tendo? At least the other fanboys put something that makes sense at the beginning of the name, ex. ****endo. See? They... are... saying... that... Nintendo... is... ****ty. Really, it would have been a ****ty insult anyways, but the next time, put something in that makes sense.
Thank you and good night.

Sidenote: This thread needs to play Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on PC or XBox. If you're an RPG fan and you haven't, SHAME on you. If you like games in general, you must play it. If you don't like RPGs or hack and slash, don't bother. It is, in my opinion, -the- best game ever, and one of the reasons I'm so psyched for 360 - Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is going to be available on release. So cool.

For as much as I hear people talk about how awesome Halo2 and Mechassault and all those other online FPSes on the consoles are the only one I really care for is Mechwarrior 4 which is on the PC so that rules out the 360 for me. The PS3 has gran turismo and I am a sucker for Gran Turismo so I will get the PS3 for Gran Turismo and maybe a FF game if it's actually new and different like FF8 or FFCC. I really want to look forward to the revolution however nothing has been said and nothing is finalized. The downloadable games are coming on it but you will have to pay for a lot of the good ones. However I'd rather spend a few bucks to dl Final Fantasy 3 and Super Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger than blow 70$ on a "new" FF game. I would however spend 70$ on a new FF game if they tried something new. FFeleven, though I dislike it, is different and hopefully FF12 will be as well.
Basically I'm going to wait a bit until PS3 and revolution start getting some good games out and on the shelves before buying anything. I still love my DS and I need to upgrade my PC so I'll probably spend money importing games for the DS and getting new stuff for my PC. I pretty much only play FPSes on a PC, the only exception is Metroid Prome and that's not really a straight up shooter, more like an action/adventure game.
