View Full Version : Freeze jumps don't work

I've noticed some songs have a "Freeze" rating higher than would be expected considering the number of freezes in the song. I believe this is because of freeze jumps that should be there but are being turned into regular jumps. There are some discrepancies in scoring which lend credence to this theory; for example, in As Do I (beginner), the first jump gives you 360 points on marvelous timing, but the second step gives you 1440 (4 times the first, when you would expect only 2). If the first jump was a freeze jump, the two OK's would be worth 720 and 1080, so 1440 would make sense then.

First off, each freeze consists of two parts, the head (A regular note) and the freeze itself. So you have note, freeze, note, freeze in what you are describing. Now I cant remember the exact formula for each scoring calculation, but I think it does work out.

That is the site I went by. The scoring system used is DDR Max 2 if you want to check out more about it.

Now the freeze rating thing might be wrong. Aperson tried his best to figure it out (I had no idea where to start). But in the end even the guys at StepMania are not sure how it completely works.
