Okay, I have a proposition.
I've been working on a formal set of all the rules of TWG and have realized that we have no governing body for interpreting the rules, issuing bans, etc. As of now, it's essentially mob rule. Some people interpret me as the leader of TWG, since I brought the game to the site. However, I don't feel comfortable issuing out judgment left and right. But TWG needs some sort of authority - a government, if you will.
I propose TWC - The Wisemen's Committee - to regulate rules disputes within the game, issue out punishments, approve (and amend, if necessary) the official rules, and sort of be the "supreme court" of the game. I'd rather this be a committee than just me doing that job, because I'm humble like that.
Chardish. I've hosted more games here than any other host (4), and I think I put a lot of work into this game. Without trying to blow my own horn, I think I've got the credentials to be on the committee.
Blahblah. Blah's a veteran player and a sharp thinker. But he's also a stickler for technicality and an inventive mind - he came up with rules disputes during Infiltration that I hadn't even thought of.
Kilgamayan. Kilga's been playing longer than any of us, back at Bemanistyle for months before TWG came to FFR. I've never met someone stricter about the no PMs rule. Kilga would make a good member of the team because he's not life-or-death about TWG, but definitely cares about it and knows what he's talking about when it comes to rules disputes.
Tasselfoot. I realize this may be controversial due to his cheating in TWG VII, however, I think he flat out knew what he was doing, and since has been more intolerant of cheating. Tasselfoot's been here since Game 1 and I don't think anyone here loves the game more than he does. He also knows what he's doing when it comes to minute disputes like instalynches and phantom votes. He's a good host, too - even though some people didn't like the 1-wolf aspect of it, I think everyone will agree that TWG IX was run flawlessly.
GuidoHunter. He's also been with TWG since the beginning, and has shown a strict intolerance towards cheating of every kind. He also brings a lot of energy and spirit to the game without getting caught up in it like so many of us so often do. Guido also shows a great deal of common sense at every opportunity. I think Guido would be a fine addition to the TWC.
If anyone listed here definitely would not want to be on the committee, please post so.
Regarding new members to the TWC, I think that the number should always stay at 5 so that in the case of a split decision it could never be a tie (much like the Supreme Court.) If someone wants to leave, their replacement is chosen by the remaining members, not by them.
I would hope that it would never come to this, but if someone were to be forcefully removed from the TWC it would take the votes of all 4 other members.
So I think this would work, and is necessary. Opinions?
*note: TWC is another MGS reference, but I'm obsessed like that
