I just played R2 for the first time and I found it extremly hard. This is coming from a player of DDR and also a seasoned pro of FFR. I tried playing it on heavy and the arrows moved so fast i could hardly react in time O_O;. Am i supposed to slow down the speed or was it intended to be this hard! Help me out!

What speed mod did you use?

adjust it to be 300bpm if you are having trouble. that is the speed of ffr. and, gradually learn to read faster. most of us read between 550-700bpm.
but, the heavy stepfiles are challenging for the majority of people. so, i'd recommend playing light/standard. gl.

Holy crap, I only read at around 550. 700 is insane. Also, if I tried R2 at anything above 450, my comp couldn't render the arrows fast enough, and the framerate would screw me up.

I may seem like a total R2 newb but i have no idea how to change the BPM. I changed the speed in the options menu to x2.50. Is that the same thing? 2.50 seemed like a pretty moderate speed :)

2.5 is relative to the BPM of the song. it modifies the bpm of the song to scroll at 2.5x its BPM.
so, use math.

Oh I see. So if the BPM of a song is 120, then if you are using a x2.50 speed, the actual play speed would be 300 BPM. Ah...thanks for your help ^_^
