1. No this is not in a browser.
2. No I will NOT tell you how to do this.
3. No I will not give you the browser I use.
4. No I will not give you hints how.
This screenshot is NOT fake.
And JSYN, at this high of a FPS it runs ALOT smoother AND faster than Stepmania.

Although it is much smoother then last night. Guess less people playing or something.

Hard drive space has NO EFFECT on how much fps you should get. The only thing that I'd think would affect it is your processor (ie how good your processor is, if you have other things running at the same time, etc.)

Also, I would like to note that if you get a super high frame count by opening the swf in something besides a browser, that shouldn't count.

Partially correct, Hard Drive speed however does, it determines how fast it reads the permanent memory.

Wow amazing. I am on a 300mhz POS with 64 MBs of RAM and I only get around 118 FPS before the arrows start coming.

Mine is constant 64fps because of V-Sync.
It looks obviously under 20fps though.

My PC is Athlon64-3200+ and Radeon9800XT, old comp already though.

Wow a year? I've been here before the new FFR interface was implemented and anybody saying they passed Pwnt or Hellbeat was considered BSing. (2 Years btw.) Try not and trail offtopic mate.

this is a dumb game you cant change the direction of the arrows
it needs to be more like FFR not DDR and its slow
the songs are terrible
its put together bad
im sticking to the original

November 28th, 2004, 03:00 AM
I'm sticking to Stepmania... If I want to play an online multiplayer, i'll play FFR... at least that runs smoothly... I can hardly say that for this 14 fps I get on stupid r2...

umm, what does FPS stand for? something per second? sorry, don't know.
At any rate, I'm only getting between 25-90 and it fluctuates A LOT, mostly
staying at around 30-50. My computer is pretty crappy anyway.

Pennybags
December 2nd, 2004, 01:06 PM
FPS = Frames per second, AKA the number of times every second that your monitor refreshed (or in this case, the flash window refreshes)

ImEric12
December 2nd, 2004, 01:32 PM
:(

Even when I run it as an exe, I get a horrible framerate. I get about 125 when nothing is moving, but the arrows come down and knock it really low, and most of the keys don't register.

8-12 fps, w00t!
Regular ffr lags for me :/ I love old computers :o

December 5th, 2004, 11:06 AM
Wow, can someone help me out here? R2 lags out of control for me, so bad that during the 16th stream in Disconnected Hazard most of the arrows don't register. And no, I don't suck. :P

I'm not really a computer person, so bear with me.

1.1 GHz Celeron Processor (yes, I know it sucks)
About 20 gigs left on the hard drive
256 MB ram
64 MB video card, can't remember what it is, but it sucks because it's a PCI and my comp is choosy about which video cards it wants to use.
No spyware.

I need some help here =/

I would gladly trade computers w/ you :/ so stop bitching about how much yours sucks :/

Yeah, okay, so mine is better. R2 still lags terribly, and I still need help.

December 5th, 2004, 03:30 PM
R2 needs a good processor. Nothing else matters. Flash is run entirely off the processor.

Get one that's at least 2 ghz, preferably 2.5.

suicidalmuskrat
December 5th, 2004, 04:35 PM
emcky is right, the human brain can only process about 30 fps, and if i remember correctly, the reason that 60 fps still looks smoother is b/c your brain and computer are not 'refreshing' synchronously...i believe...if someone knows more about it they can elaborate

zildjian133
December 5th, 2004, 09:07 PM
Florescent lights flash 60 times per second, just a tid bit of information, but I'm so pissed right now how anyone here can get a better frame rate than me:

2.43 gighertz processor
1 Gig of ram
Radeon 9700 pro

I'm just mad, if anyone would tell me how that bastard that started this thread could yield 125fps while the arrows are going I would actually appreciate R2, EVEN IN STEPMANIA I ONLY GET 60fps BUT THAT IS STILL VERY GOOD, VERY TOLERABLE, as in I don't need a higher fps rate. This thread just made me angry, If the human eye can only see 30fps I know its going a lot slow than that while playing R2.

The human brain can only see 30 fps.

Damn.. my brain cant see anything.. :(

And you would be able to tell a difference of 30 FPS+ in smoothness.. even if you cant actually see each frame being refreshed.

speedythx
December 6th, 2004, 11:27 AM
The human brain can only see 30 fps.it sees very much more than that.

what the human brain sees is not in fps, it's constant.

i can tell the difference betweek 30 and 75.

It's more than 30 fps, bud.

Have Half-Life or any of the mods? Start a game, type in "fps_max 30" in the console, run around a bit, then type in "fps_max 999999".

Assuming you can get more than 30 fps, you WILL notice a difference. At least I do :\

"...the Human Eye can perceive much past the mis conception[sic] of 30 FPS and well past 60 FPS, even surpassing 200 FPS."

well, i get 100 constant for the most part, which is good enough for me. I see all these ppl runnin 600 or whatever and find it to be a little, well, unnecessary....My game runs fine on 100, so I'm good. and I don't kno all of my technically things about my computer, but i kno its a Dell Inspiron 1000. yea i kno...."eww", right? yea yea, but it works for me, so i'm happy.
