Mulie's Details
About me:
My name is Astrid. I'm a pretty lonely person; ambitious by comparison. The two go together because I don't particularly like people in general. It doesn't mean I dislike you; and don't get me wrong: I give respect where it is mutually expected. Just don't expect me to abide by your rules, unless you're actually deserving of it.
Interests:
I have social anxiety disorder; my brain tends to melt during face-to-face conversation. It's more of a conditioned reflex than a rational process. I like to play Life on auto-pilot, though my eyes are always on radar. You'll never understand me as I do myself, though if you ever manage to I will admire you greatly. I'll also admire you if you ever manage to befriend me. The truth is that in my world, there are friends, there are best friends, and then there are acquaintances. Best friends are friends and friends are acquaintances. Who do I love the most?
Fav music:
I'm aspiring to become a neuropsychologist. I'm entering my sophomore year in university, though only my first studying Psych and Biochem. Some would argue that it's useless to choose a research field before earning your doctorate, let alone during your undergraduate studies. I disagree, for two reasons in particular. One, neuropsychology is a broad field. Two, I believe that this is what I was made for.
Fav movies:
I'm obviously a logical thinker; yet I'm an ex-game addict. I started playing games when I was two years old. Little did I know back then that I'd drop out of high school for games (promoting my deeply engraved outcast mentality). Flash Flash is my final outstation. What else? I'm generally not interested in the stereotypical junk; shopping, clothes or interior design. I'm certainly not interested in dolls, unicorns, frills and the color pink. (Actually, I like pink.) I used to be all hardcore elitist in any and all forms of online games. Maybe I still am, though I try to be zealous about my health. My health and my education are at the forefront of my priorities. I take a lot of courses on my spare time.

Competitively, at least.

Yeah, I never actually reached a level where I could be considered a competitive player in the public's eye, but I consider my rate of improvement above average, and that didn't exactly come easily. No more tournaments; no more grinding.

HOW DO I CHARTED MIND

Seeking to alleviate opacity. Sloth: foggy mind does not condone wishful thinking. Victim to its own defenses.

Shameless - adj.
"Feeling no shame; impervious to disgrace."
Short shorts are everywhere.

"Pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart. The really great men must, I think, have great sadness on earth." -Fyodor Dostoevsky, novelist (1821-1881)

For MOTIVATION (sorry, Stan!)
a MENTAL EXERCISE:
"Who am I? Where am I? When is it? What do I want? Why do I want it? How will I get it? What do I need to overcome? What is my super-objective?"

"Nobody heard him, the dead man,
But still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning.
Poor chap, he always loved larking
And now he's dead
It must have been too cold for him; his heart gave way,
They said.
Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the dead one lay moaning)
I was much too far out all my life
And not waving but drowning."
- Florence Margaret "Stevie" Smith

Personality Test (retook it)
Posted on: September 9, 2009, at 01:56:38am   [0 comments]
Take the test (very short).

http://www.blogthings.com/howrareisyourpersonalityquiz/

I retook it. It turns out that my result hinges on a question that has no value to me:

"You identify more with..." (Fictional Characters / Real People)

I feel that I identify equally with both, as both fictional characters and real people are fairly easy to understand. Of course, I originally chose 'real people' because they are bound to be more dynamic and therefore more interesting. A fictional character's depth depends entirely on the writer's own complexity. But that's not even what the question asked me to choose by. If a fictional character is easier to understand (not really), then it goes without saying that I identify with a fictional character more easily. But yeah, not really; it's a stupid, stupid question.

After reading the INTP profile, I have to say... it is very likely that this is the closest that any 12 question personality test will ever come to giving a proper description of what I am actually like. Very surprising. Seriously. It made me go >=o!!!!!! And WHAT and YES and OMFGISgoisjgoisjgorso accurate
Anyway, here's a few excerpts from the following page.

http://www.personalitypage.com/INTP.html

PORTRAIT OF AN INTP - Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving
(Introverted Thinking with Extraverted Intuition)

As an INTP, your primary mode of living is focused internally, where you deal with things rationally and logically. Your secondary mode is external, where you take things in primarily via your intuition.

INTPs live in the world of theoretical possibilities. They see everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into. They live primarily inside their own minds, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations. They seek clarity in everything, and are therefore driven to build knowledge. They are the "absent-minded professors", who highly value intelligence and the ability to apply logic to theories to find solutions. They typically are so strongly driven to turn problems into logical explanations, that they live much of their lives within their own heads, and may not place as much importance or value on the external world. Their natural drive to turn theories into concrete understanding may turn into a feeling of personal responsibility to solve theoretical problems, and help society move towards a higher understanding.

INTPs value knowledge above all else. Their minds are constantly working to generate new theories, or to prove or disprove existing theories. They approach problems and theories with enthusiasm and skepticism, ignoring existing rules and opinions and defining their own approach to the resolution. They seek patterns and logical explanations for anything that interests them. They're usually extremely bright, and able to be objectively critical in their analysis. They love new ideas, and become very excited over abstractions and theories. They love to discuss these concepts with others. They may seem "dreamy" and distant to others, because they spend a lot of time inside their minds musing over theories. They hate to work on routine things - they would much prefer to build complex theoretical solutions, and leave the implementation of the system to others. They are intensely interested in theory, and will put forth tremendous amounts of time and energy into finding a solution to a problem with has piqued their interest.

...

INTPs live rich worlds inside their minds, which are full of imagination and excitement. Consequently, they sometimes find the external world pales in comparison. This may result in a lack of motivation to form and maintain relationships. INTPs are not likely to have a very large circle of significant relationships in their lives. They're much more likely to have a few very close relationships, which they hold in great esteem and with great affection. Since the INTP's primary focus and attention is turned inwards, aimed towards seeking clarity from abstract ideas, they are not naturally tuned into others' emotional feelings and needs. They tend to be difficult to get to know well, and hold back parts of themselves until the other person has proven themselves "worthy" of hearing the INTP's thoughts. Holding Knowledge and Brain Power above all else in importance, the INTP will choose to be around people who they consider to be intelligent. Once the INTP has committed themself to a relationship, they tend to be very faithful and loyal, and form affectionate attachments which are pure and straight-forward. The INTP has no interest or understanding of game-playing with regards to relationships. However, if something happens which the INTP considers irreconciliable, they will leave the relationship and not look back.

blah. I miss talking to you.
Life without a computer is depressing.
I've been thinking a lot about starting a game development team. I'm researching all of the different roles right now, and I've spent a lot of time designing my main two games.
I know you have your own aspirations for game development; might you work in leagues with me? I really think it's possible to start up a new team from scratch and do well with it by working up the ladder.

I've had a problem with procrastination for a few years now. Usually I just try to do everything at once; get the momentum going and plow through everything, but now I can't even do that v_v I need more discipline.

Happy Birfday! I think I'm on time; I have 85 minutes left :p
I don't even remember my messenger thing. I haven't been on since we last talked. I think I was in the middle of changing it. I'll check that again tomorrow.
And I may or may not have my soul back. I'm not sure yet. Sorry for vanishing :o
