Very wonderful band right here.

Sure, folk rock (with country influence) isn't too popular, but with bands like this, I'm surprised that isn't.

Next semester...

...is going to kick major ass. It's going to kick my ass, too, but that's not the point. Just look at my schedule:

-Divine Witness: M/W/F, 10:00-10:50 AM
-Orchestration & Arranging: M/W, 2:00-3:15 PM
-Case Study Approach to Science: M/W, 5:00-6:25 PM
-Community Band: M, time TBA
-New Music Consort: Tu/Th, 11:00-12:50 PM
-Private Lessons: Composition: Day(s) TBA, time TBA

I'm taking four music classes next semester, as opposed to the one I'm taking this semester (Fundamentals of Music, which I was exempted from weeks ago). Orchestration/Arranging is exactly what it sounds like, but is normally available only to juniors/seniors; my advisor, the professor for this class who has a composition doctorate, saw my work and signed me into this class. Woo. New Music Consort is basically a performance class filled with a variety of instrumentalists (pianists, clarinetists, guitarists, trumpeters, etc.). We're going to be playing a lot of John Cage and some original compositions from the students live around the town. I'm taking Community Band, which is essentially a wind ensemble that I get graded for being in without the unnecessary bullshit involved in high school. My advisor is my private composition lesson instructor, so we're going to be able to work on stuff I've been working on and introducing completely new techniques. I've got my history/philosophy/religion course thrown in there (Divine Witness; it's got something to do with religion, I'll give you that much) and my non-lab science to fulfill some core gen. ed. requirements. I'm glad that I got exempted from language, but disappointed that I have to take a lab science next year. Oh well.

Lovely song.

PSST, A WORD OF ADVICE TO MOST FFR MUSICIANS:
Posted on: April 27, 2009, at 05:01:57am   [2 comments]
Learn something about music before making it.

(Those who do know a thing about it are exempt)

"Mogsy, you have no right to say such a thing."

I compose for a living, yes I do, shut up.

I like him alot too now, he's epic - after listening to everything he did. Oh yeah, I shall add you on AIM and show you some of my composistions. Just remember - I'm not half your level, so go easy hehehehe. Oh and school's the same with me, so I feel your pain :P I hope I can impress you by the way hehe.

You've gained a fan :D You underestimate yourself, the first thing I thought when I heard your stuff was a dramatic movie scene. Though game music would totally work, sorry if I sound a bit cheesy - but seriously, you're just epic <3 <3. I'd love to show you stuff I'm working on if that's okay with you, maybe get some pointers from a pro ^__^;;. I showed Matti a few, and he liked them :3 Maybe I can add you on AIM?
Oh and I looked up Nobuo Uematsu, I HAD NO IDEA HE WAS THE FINAL FANTASY MAN!
Oh and yes, the pleausre is all mine :3

I took a listen, and I loved them - even though they were MIDI sequences, I could most certainly here them being played by big bands, even your solo stuff too. Though you call it "shitty" I still love what I hear, and if it gets better I can't wait! I wish I had your skills, you're like awesome!
Oh wow, you are moving up, next stop hollywood or wherever you'd like hehehehe. I really do wish you all the best; be sure to point out anything you've made that I might be able to see :33.
Oh and yes, it was so awesome hearing it. I've been writing a lot of Orchestral music these days and my teacher was like, I like that. . . . . and you get the rest :D.
PS *hug*

Well I'll wish you the best for this semester. I'm not sure what the term freshman means, but I'm guessing it means you're new to the school/college - vague guess hehe. Oh and as for an album, that sounds sooo cool. Hey if you can release it my side of the water, I'd love to have a peek listen :D, seeing as I haven't heard anything from you.
As for me, I'm just getting back into the swing of school, trying to let nothing stop me from concerntrating, but I get the odd slip up when I see Russel Howard on Television =P. Music is getting better with me, I GOT MY SCHOOL TO PLAY ONE OF MY TUNES, IT WAS SOO AMAZING :D :D :D That's all the juicy stuff heheheh, everything else is pretty bland XD.
So with music, where's that taking you these days?

Well it's nice to hear from you again Pete. I wanted to talk for a while, but either when I was typing to you I got booted off, or I'd be like "what if he doesn't want to speak to me =P". Yes, I think about things way too much hehe. It's been a while, how've you been through our seperation? ^__^;;
