Very wonderful band right here.Posted on: November 17, 2009, at 06:12:13pm [ 0 comments] Sure, folk rock (with country influence) isn't too popular, but with bands like this, I'm surprised that isn't.
Next semester...Posted on: November 13, 2009, at 02:24:01pm [ 0 comments] ...is going to kick major ass. It's going to kick my ass, too, but that's not the point. Just look at my schedule:
-Divine Witness: M/W/F, 10:00-10:50 AM
-Orchestration & Arranging: M/W, 2:00-3:15 PM
-Case Study Approach to Science: M/W, 5:00-6:25 PM
-Community Band: M, time TBA
-New Music Consort: Tu/Th, 11:00-12:50 PM
-Private Lessons: Composition: Day(s) TBA, time TBA
I'm taking four music classes next semester, as opposed to the one I'm taking this semester (Fundamentals of Music, which I was exempted from weeks ago). Orchestration/Arranging is exactly what it sounds like, but is normally available only to juniors/seniors; my advisor, the professor for this class who has a composition doctorate, saw my work and signed me into this class. Woo. New Music Consort is basically a performance class filled with a variety of instrumentalists (pianists, clarinetists, guitarists, trumpeters, etc.). We're going to be playing a lot of John Cage and some original compositions from the students live around the town. I'm taking Community Band, which is essentially a wind ensemble that I get graded for being in without the unnecessary bullshit involved in high school. My advisor is my private composition lesson instructor, so we're going to be able to work on stuff I've been working on and introducing completely new techniques. I've got my history/philosophy/religion course thrown in there (Divine Witness; it's got something to do with religion, I'll give you that much) and my non-lab science to fulfill some core gen. ed. requirements. I'm glad that I got exempted from language, but disappointed that I have to take a lab science next year. Oh well. Lovely song.Posted on: November 13, 2009, at 02:27:56am [ 0 comments]

(Those who do know a thing about it are exempt)
"Mogsy, you have no right to say such a thing."

Oh and yes, it was so awesome hearing it. I've been writing a lot of Orchestral music these days and my teacher was like, I like that. . . . . and you get the rest :D.

As for me, I'm just getting back into the swing of school, trying to let nothing stop me from concerntrating, but I get the odd slip up when I see Russel Howard on Television =P. Music is getting better with me, I GOT MY SCHOOL TO PLAY ONE OF MY TUNES, IT WAS SOO AMAZING :D :D :D That's all the juicy stuff heheheh, everything else is pretty bland XD.
So with music, where's that taking you these days?
