Shocking News

"I can't believe that we have to go to summer school." I was telling my brother. "It sucks. I have to spend the whole summer in school. Just what I need." I try to study as hard as I can but it doesn't help. I just can't remember things.
"Oh, cheer up. At least you will be there with your boyfriend. It will probably just be you two and the teacher. I don't think other people are stupid enough to fail." He said, grinning.
"If I get a hold of you I'll kill you! You better take back what you said!" I said.
"Not if I kill you first, that is. I'm a lot faster and smarter than you. You couldn't even kill a fly."
"No one is going to be killing anyone on my watch. Both of you stop fighting and go to your rooms." My mom said. Yes, she still sends us to our rooms when we're bad, even though were fourteen and fifteen. My brother is older than me by a year. He's fifteen. We always get into fights like this, but we never actually end up hurting each other. We just say stuff. My name is Almena and my brother’s name is Chad. This is going to sound wrong because I'm his sister but he is really hot. All my friends like him and most of the girls in the school. That's a lot of girls. He tortures them by saying he doesn't want a girlfriend, when he really does. My boyfriends name is Nick. My parents really like him, that’s why they let me date him. I'm their only girl so they are protective over me. John and I have been dating for almost a year now. Last summer he had to go to summer school because he failed math. This year he has to go because he failed geography, like me. This year geography was really hard though, I don't blame him for failing. I just can't study that well, that’s why I failed. No one ever helps me study. I've been trying to get the school to start a tutoring group, but they won't listen to me and I really hate it. Last year Nick told me he was the only one at summer school and it sucked. He wanted to skip it this year but when he heard that I had it to he didn't want to leave me their alone. He would be a horrible boyfriend if he did, according to my best friend Alex. Today was Saturday the 28Th's of May which means that summer school started in nine days. I somewhat couldn't wait because it meant that I would spend more time with my boyfriend, which was a good thing.
"Hey, Chad, do you remember Alex?" I asked when mom left.
"Yeah, she's the hot one, right?" He responded.
"I guess." I said. I never heard him call a girl hot before.
"Does she have a boyfriend?" He asked me.
"No, she wants to know if you will date her." I said. I didn't want to do it, but she forced me into it. I already knew he was going to say no but she wanted me to ask him anyway.
"Yes." He said. My mouth dropped open.
"What?" I asked "What?"
"I said, yes, I will date her. I think she's pretty nice, and she's hot, like I said before." He said. "Could you give me her number?"
"No! You were supposed to say no. You’re not supposed to date her. You’re not supposed to date anyone. Are you crazy? Do you know how many girls like you? Out of all of them you have to choose Alex? Are you out of your Vulcan mind?" I said, halfway shouting.
"No, I'm not out of my Vulcan mind; I'm not even out of my normal mind. I really like her. All the other girls are idiots compared to her. Tell her I said that, will you?" He said. "Oh, and speaking of Vulcan, Star Trek should be coming on in about five minutes and you still need to take a shower and you know mom's policy. Looks like I'm going to be watching it by my self." He said, smiling. I ran upstairs and got in the bathroom to take a shower. My mom's policy is that we need to have taken a shower before 7:30. Star Trek started at seven and ends at eight which means unless I take a shower before seven, I miss the first part of Star Trek. I turned the water on and waited until it was warm. I got under it and started spreading soap on my body.
'I'm glad that I washed my hair yesterday.' I thought. I rinsed the soap off and turned off the water. I dried my body and got into my pajamas. I ran downstairs.
"How in the world did you take a shower that fast?" Chad asked me.
"I washed my hair yesterday so I didn't have to worry so much about it." I answered. "Now, quite, it's starting."

Chad and I said, along with the television. Every Saturday night we watch Star Trek together. We stayed quite until the commercial.
"I got to go to the bathroom." Chad said.
"Thanks for sharing that for me." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Your welcome." He called from the top of the stairs. I skimmed the rest of the channels to see if there was anything else on.
"Oh, my, god!" I yelled, jumping up from the couch.
"What?" My brother called from the bathroom.
"Nothing." I said. "Come down as fast as you can, you got to see this!" I said, after a second. Chad came running down the stairs.
"What? Anything that makes you yell like that is very important." He said.
"Look at the screen!" I said. He looked.
"I don't believe it. She was my favorite teacher. Did you hear what happened? Was there a description?" He asked. On the screen, there was a picture of Miss Heifer. Under her picture was the words, she'll always be remembered.
"I don't know, what I heard is that she stayed afterschool and the janitor heard her scream. When the janitor found her, she was pointing to the wall. Next thing he knows, she fell, dead on the floor." I said.
"Weird." He said, "What do you think happened?"
"I think she saw something and had a heart attack from the fright, but what could scare her so much?" I asked.
"I don't know, the whole thing is weird. Hey, it's back on, quite." He said. We both turned back to the screen to watch the ending of Star Trek.

Last Day of School

I went outside and waited for the bus.
'I can't believe it's the last day of school.' I thought. 'The year passed so quickly' I put my book bag on the floor and leaned against the house. 'Can't believe I got stuck in summer school, either.' I saw Chad walking towards me, caring my lunch.
"You forgot this!" He yelled, halfway down the road.
"Thanks." I said. 'Yeah, thanks for yelling it down the street.' I thought. I took my lunch from his hands and he smirked at me.
"Your welcome." He said, turning around. He started walking back to the house when I said,
"Yo, see if you can figure out what happened to Miss Heifer, I will do the same, I'm really curios about it."
"Curiosity killed the cat." He answered, without turning around. I turned around and ran back to the bus stop. My bus was already their! I grabbed my book bag and jumped on the bus.
"Thanks for waiting." I told the bus driver.
"No problem." She answered. She always waits for me, if I'm running late. I sat down in the first seat and leaned against the window.
"What’s wrong?" Nick asked me. He was sitting a seat behind me. He grabbed all his stuff and quickly moved with me. “Did you hear what happened to Mrs. Heifer.” I said.
“No, what happened?” He asked me.
“She died, I don’t know when, I don’t really know how, I was skimming the channels and stopped on the news, it said that he janitor heard a scream and found her pointing at the wall, then, she fell down, dead. No one knows what she was pointing at, the janitor and the police checked the walls, but they didn’t find anything unusual, everything was in order. I think she imagined something, or had a flashback of some sort and had a heart attack, the doctors are still examining her to find out what maybe happened.” I answered. I watched the news this morning to learn more about what happened to Mrs. Heifer.
